Making The Models

I decided to make the cat and mice myself out of modelling clay - fimo to be precise. I didn't have the colours I needed so I found out about painting it; you can use acrylic paint if you apply it first and then bake them. I made quite a few different shaped mice in different poses to hopefully add an amusing element to my iTingle.  I used multi core wire for the whiskers and tails then coloured it with a black permanent marker. I also used the marker to add the nose and eye details. The were quite fiddly to make and paint but I really enjoyed doing so. I think they are quite sweet!

My favourite - a relaxing mouse

The cat proved to be a little harder. I wanted to get the crouching position right - it took a few tries but I think I managed to get it right:

I then used acrylic paint again to add the details. I think he looks brilliant! I wanted him to look a bit stupid (as he can't catch the mice) so I gave him dopey looking cross-eyes.
